THE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY – PLOVDIV has been spreading knowledge, preserving love of the Bulgarians to land and its wealth, the thirst for knowledge and the age-old traditions of Bulgarian agriculture. It has strengthened its positions as a leading institution in the area of agricultural education, science and business. The Agricultural University – Plovdiv was founded in 1945. The way it went was dynamic and controversial, however, for 65 years now Bulgarian higher agricultural education has been centered in Plovdiv. The alumni of the Agricultural University – Plovdiv amount to over 22000 Bulgarian and about 3000 foreign citizens from 76 countries who have occupied key positions in their state governments. The experts trained at the Agricultural University – Plovdiv are able to realize the common agricultural policy of the EU and to enhance the reputation of Bulgaria as a modern agricultural country.
